Aviation Maintenance Technician

The Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) spans 21 months and consists of 78 credit hours. It is offered at over a dozen campuses nationwide, including locations in Georgia, Texas, Florida, California, and Pennsylvania.

This hands-on program is designed to prepare students for entry-level roles in aircraft maintenance, including positions such as aircraft mechanic, avionics technician, or inspector. The program culminates with a capstone course that prepares students to take the FAA certification exams.

AIM’s 27-month Aviation Maintenance Technical Engineer (AMTE) program blends classroom instruction with hands-on training in aircraft systems, including avionics, hydraulics, and propulsion. Associate of Occupational Science (AOS) in Aviation Maintenance Technology – Atlanta Metro, GA
AIM’s 21-month AOS program offers 93 credit hours of practical training in aircraft systems, engines, and avionics using real FAA-standard equipment. The curriculum combines technical instruction with general education in math, science, and communication. Graduates are prepared for FAA certification and advanced roles in avionics, turbine maintenance, or management within aviation maintenance organizations.
