Students gain hands-on experience working on live aircraft in state-of-the-art facilities. Instruction is led by expert technicians and structured to meet FAA Part 147 standards, ensuring graduates are fully prepared for industry demands.

Curriculum and Core Skills

The curriculum covers a wide range of aviation maintenance topics, including airframe systems, turbine and reciprocating engines, aircraft electronics, and regulatory compliance.

Students receive both classroom instruction and practical lab training, developing critical skills in inspection, repair, overhaul, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems.

Flexible Formats and Online Options

Unique to the Academy, students can choose to begin coursework online through a self-paced program covering the first two modules, reducing overall training time.

Additional transition support is available for military veterans, including a 6-week A&P test prep course and use of GI Bill® benefits at the Denton campus. Veterans can also leverage documented military experience toward FAA certification through Form 8610-2, potentially reducing required training time.

High School Dual Credit Opportunities

High school seniors can also participate in a vocational dual credit version of the program. This model provides early, hands-on experience in aviation maintenance and helps students fast-track their entry into a high-demand trade career.
