Aviation Maintenance Foundations Program
The Aviation Maintenance Foundations program serves high school juniors and seniors interested in beginning their aviation maintenance education early.
Cost & Duration
This 960-hour program spans approximately 10 months and costs $2,959.95 for in-district students or $5,039.95 for out-of-district students.
Additional required student purchases totaling $1,015 include books, computer, calculator, and other school supplies.
Curriculum
The curriculum includes Foundation of Aerospace (240 hours), Aerospace General (240 hours), Basic Electricity (240 hours), and Aerospace Structures (240 hours), preparing students for eventual FAA Aviation Maintenance Technician certification while also offering preparation for Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate testing for unmanned aircraft systems.
Aviation Maintenance Technician Program
The adult Aviation Maintenance Technician program represents Metro Tech’s flagship offering for workforce-ready training.
Cost & Duration
The program requires 1,920 hours of instruction over approximately 20 months.
Tuition costs $6,240 for in-state students and $12,480 for out-of-state students, with additional supplies ($695) and exam fees ($1,525).
Students can choose between daytime (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM) or evening (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) schedules, Monday through Thursday.
Curriculum
The program covers Aerospace General (640 hours), Airframe I (640 hours), and Powerplant I (640 hours), preparing students for both Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic examinations administered by the FAA. Students earn certifications in Aviation Maintenance Technician – Airframe (AMA), Aviation Maintenance Technician – Power Plant (AMP), and Aviation Maintenance Technician – General (AMG).
Accreditation and Recognition
Metro Tech maintains Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 147 certification with an FAA-approved and supervised curriculum, along with accreditation from the Oklahoma Board of Career and Technology Education and Oklahoma State Department of Education.

The Aviation Campus recently completed $1.8 million in renovations unveiled in June 2024, including improvements to practical laboratories, airplane hangars, new roofing, remodeled classrooms, bathrooms, and cafeteria facilities.
